When it comes down to love, there’s a fluidity that many people embrace. It’s slowly but surely becoming more and more acceptable for people to be honest about who they’re loving without having an explanation for why they love them.

While most people are allowed the luxury of being able to do this in privacy, the celebrities on this list were forced to do it in the public eye.

This goes right along with the territory of being a public figure. Every few years a new scandal comes out that seems to shock everybody: a female celebrity chooses to leave her husband, boyfriend, situation-ship whatever they want to label it as in order to pursue a relationship with another female.

Being in a same-gender relationship is just as hard if not harder than a heterosexual relationship.

Not only do you have the pressures of the relationship, there’s also the comments, the stares, and the straight up negativity. However, the relationship escapades of many of these female celebrities has made for great tabloid talk and inspired some crazy and for the most part unrealistic stories about relationships throughout Hollywood.

Many people seem to forget how big Hollywood actually is and that there’s an endless amount of opportunities for love. A lot of people who don’t feel the need to put a label on what they do with their personal relationships. While this list only scratches the surface, here are 15 A-list celebrities that left their men for women.

Angelina Jolie

When Angelina Jolie starred in the film Hackers with her then fiancé Jonny Lee Miller she was a dead-eyed, rising actress. In 1996, the couple would eventually marry but when Jolie went to film the movie Foxfire, she said after meeting Jenny Shimizu, it was love at first sight. “I fell in love with her the first second I saw her,”. Actually, I saw when she was being cast in Foxfire, and I thought she had just read for my part.

I thought I was going to lose the job.” She went on to say, “I probably would have married Jenny Shimizu if I hadn’t married my husband.” She was also seeing Shimizu regularly during her 3-year marriage to Miller, admitting that it contributed to their marriage ending in 1999.
