The Pacific Ocean is enormous, and covers around 13,000 feet in depth and 60 million square miles.

Its deepest seabed is the deepest on the plant, and can be located at its deepest perimeter, more or less halfway along a north-south which is drawn between Papua New Guinea and Japan.

This is known as the Challenger Deep, and found 36,000 feet beneath the surface of the sea, from within the Mariana Trench.

To this day, what still isn’t understood is what may be lurking deep down in the Challenger Deep or for that matter, really any part of the Pacific. Japan’s Lost City

In 1995, a Japanese diver had the idea to explore a part of the sea that was a few hundred miles to the South West of Japan. Not thinking he would find anything more noteworthy geological formations and marine life, but he ended up stumbling upon something that was quite amazing, a 10,000-year-old lost city.

Archaeologists descended into this maze of stone steps and archways from around the world, many believe these are undeniable bodies of proof of a giant city that had sunk after his findings were publicized.

The city’s ruins consist of stone walls, archways, streets and temples which all look to have been very carefully carved out of the side of an mountain found underwater.

One suggestion says that this city may have belonged to Jomon, which is thought to be quite an impressively advanced ancient civilization, unfortunately, not very much is known about them.
