Some ugly ducklings out there just need a little more time than others to blossom into the beautiful swans they were always meant to be.
These 15 former child actors sadly, did the reverse. They took peak in their careers very early on, starting out as adorable as ever, talented and full of so much promise, but unfortunately, time hasn’t been their best friend. These tween stars have suffered from a double dose of cruelty when their careers went down the tubes right beside their looks. Nothing lasts forever in Hollywood as its been said time and time again, and these former stars are all the proof you will ever need of that truth.
Child actors usually do not come out on the other side of puberty unscathed and too often we hear about how they made train wrecks out of their careers in no time. Seriously, why would any loving parent push their kids into show business knowing the chances of them crashing and burning are high. Many of these 15 child actors can add poor adult choices to their fateful triangle of despair:
Dead careers… check. Destructive decisions, substance abuse and run ins with the law… check. Sorry kids, we hope you enjoyed your fortune, fame and cuteness while it lasted. It
look like it’ll be returning anytime soon.
Here are 15 child stars that went from cute to puke.
1. Macaulay Culkin
This guy right here is known for being the poster child for cute kid actors turned washed up, ugly addict. Seriously, can this really be the same person!? Macaulay all grown up barely even resembles little Kevin McAllister who everyone fell in love after watching Home Alone. He was always such a daring little guy back in the day with his snarky retorts and quick witted pranks, now he’s… well yucky. After the kiddo was able to land some big roles in films like My Girl and Uncle Buck, he retired from from acting at age 14, and took a very real interest in alcohol and drugs, eventually leading up to a bust in 2004. His story is truly sad, but a common one. He was a child superstar, controlled by strict stage parents who developed an appetite for chaos and destruction. Not exactly a recipe for success there, huh?
