One doesn’t need to look very hard if they’re hunting for proof that celebrities are in fact humans who possess some otherwise peculiar flaws. How we usually see our favorite stars in print or on screen is most often the result of strategic angling, methodical lighting, and skillful Photoshop manipulation. Celebrities are people too, that is the reality, quite often falls to the wayside, and they are expected to appear in all their glossy perfection anytime their audience demands it.
Yet, no matter how rich, no one can grace the public eye with the absolute certainty that photo filters usually provide. Everything is live and visible while you’re in public. Hiding the parts you are most self-conscious about is extra hard. Some celebrities who have disfigurements are very subtle, while others are a tad more noticeable. Though most members of Holly-weird manage to keep their respective defects hidden away, it hasn’t prevented the world around from exposing their most shocking and strangest secrets. Because everybody loves celebrities, especially when their humanity has been exposed, we love them even more. Here are 15 celebrities living with physical deformities.
1. Mark Wahlberg – My Third Nipple
He’s been around for decades and he’s one of our favorite bad boy heartthrobs, modeling, following Donnie, his older brother’s footsteps into music and leading Marky Mark And The Funky Bunch back in the 1990s, eventually turning his attention to acting and appearing in films like The Other Guys, Fear, and Ted and Ted 2. He’s also spent so much time without a shirt that it’s almost hard to believe that we’ve never noticed this celebrity’s body oddity at one point or another. Mark was born with a superfluous third nipple. Yes, you’re reading that correctly. A third nipple. How come we’ve never noticed this before, you ask? Once again, we find ourselves thanking the illustrious capabilities of Photoshop for deceiving us. What Mark has come to call his “most prized possession” was viewed by movie and photo editors alike as “unsightly”, and thus airbrushed out of almost all of his print and screen appearances. Some editors have chosen to allow it to appear au naturale in their works, however, because we noticed it winking at the camera in one of his newest films, Shooter.
